Today's Update

Doogie has suffered a massive irreversible stroke. He will not be able to recover. He is an organ donor and is going to be able to help many families. Thank you for all your love and support. We will update you as soon as details are in place. Tentative plans are for a funeral service in Sandy, Utah on Monday, with burial in Monticello on Tuesday.

I will post more details as available, and we will let you know when he passes. It will most likely be tomorrow, as they are trying to contact the recipients of the organs. Thank you again for your love and support.

  20. We love Doogie.
He was blessed with a brilliant mind. He could fix anything and enjoyed helping those of us that were less skilled. He was blessed with three beautiful children who loved him. He was proud of his boys, loved taking them places and told stories about the things they said and the things they did. Doogie bought fingernail polish for his daughter. He painted her finger and toe nails every week. He and Valerie loved to travel and had wonderful vacations together. Doogie lived large. He has many friends that he loved. He will be missed.
    We love Doogie.

  25. Valerie, I am praying for you and especially for your kids. I was really touched by your strength and charity by at once thinking of the organ donor recipients and what a gift your husband is leaving for them. It sent chills down my arms. I think you are super amazing. God bless!

P.S. Kasen blessed Brad in his prayer tonight. It was sweet and touching hearing him pray for his friend.

  27. The Perry Grant family is so sorry for the loss of "Doogie". I know him only through the stories I have heard from Dave, Kyle and Perry over the past few years. My FAA doctor, Swithin Chandler, signed the Guestbook of my son Perry and spoke of the big round table in heaven around which are seated the great aviators that passed on before us. I'm sure Perry and Doogie are holding their own at the table. I can tell you that I fly over the mountain peak that claimed the life of my son all to frequently. Four years later I still get a tear in my eye and flash the landing lights a couple of times in honor of him being a great son to me. I'm sure Doogie is all of that to his family. Be strong and never let the memories of "Doogie" fade. Be patient with those who don't understand the grief you feel and know that you will all see "Doogie again someday". Love and Prayers from the Grants. Let us know if we can help. Perry Grant

  28. I feel very sorry for Josh and his family. Josh always talked about his father and how much he loved him. He always tried to follow his dad's lead, like him being a pilot. Brad loved his father as much as Josh did. Losing a dad is probably a little worse than losing 2 siblings. Even though I never knew a lot of their dad, I think he was the greatest dad in the world for them.

    Your Friend,

    Carlos Rojas

To your beautiful Josh, Brad and Hailey: your dad will be always around you... FAMILIES ARE FOREVER... love and hugh much each other, specially your mom.
